Friday, the end of another week for many, has me contemplating and reviewing the events of the week and year. I have learned a lot about myself to say the least, which is important for the healer. One of the things I tell people is that self-care is vital to our well-being and yes, after some time, I myself have been proactive with following that advice.
As healers we need to be in a good space. We are human and not every day is always going to be filled with sunshine. There are rainbows after a storm. So this blog is for you, the healers that may need that gentle reminder that supporting ourselves when needed is okay!
Here are some helpful tips:
- Check in with yourself.
Take a few deep breaths and notice how you are feeling.
- Ask yourself, “What do I need at this time?”
Pay attention to the first thing that comes to mind.
- Be gentle with yourself (do not judge)
Remind yourself that we are where we are supposed to be. We flow with nature and experience what is in the now.
- Make and take the time to do what you need to do for you!
Practice Reiki on yourself. I recommend 10 minutes a day. Pick a comfortable position and place your hands where you feel drawn or what feels most comfortable. Set your timer if needed and allow the energy to flow. While it may feel different from receiving from another person, know that you are receiving.
- Review the Precepts
Take some time and focus and mediate on the precepts, even if it’s a moment for each. This will help bring you back to the nature of being.
I close with these thoughts of knowing what is in our highest best is working for us. We need to be open and receptive to listening to our mind, body, and spirit. We need to take action to, in a gentle way, with what will benefit us.

Self- care is an act of love, and a gift we give to ourselves. Setting an intention to regularly nurture our being allows us to become gently refreshed and renewed. Today, I commit to self- care.
Thanks for the reminder.
Namaste
Thank you for your message Margo! I love how you explained that it’s an act of love! We all need to love ourselves enough to care for ourselves in a caring way. Thank you!
